Inter-Library Loans and Document Delivery
The Inter-Library Loans/Document Delivery Service of the university library obtains material from other libraries in Austria and abroad, which this library does not hold. Only items which are not in stock, and which are not avaliable from electronically accessible sources or at other libraries in Vienna, may be requested.
Current staff and students of the university may make use of this service if they require an item for academic study or research.
Please check the online catalogue before making an ILL or document supply request! If in doubt, ask for help at the Information Desk.
Please be aware that for ordering books or other material using the inter-library loans and document delivery service, charges will have to be paid.
Astrid Böck (Leitung)

other libraries in Austria or in foreign countries.
For your requests, please use the Online Request Form. Please be sure to fill in the book's author(s) or editor(s), the title and the year of publication.
Mrs Astrid Böck will be glad to answer your questions and inform you how a book can be obtained at minimum cost and in the shortest possible time.
Costs: €4,-per item if the books can be ordered within Austria, or € 10,- and more, if books have to be ordered from libraries in other countries.
How long can I keep the book? - The loan period is defined by the lending library and is usually 2 - 4 weeks.
The Document Delivery Service will obtain photocopies of journal articles, book chapters, and reports. For your requests, please use the Online Request Form.
Costs: these are usually around € 0,40 per photocopied page plus postage (€ 0,60 for fax delivery) but can be higher. Please ask Mrs. Böck for details.
Institutes of the TU Wien: please send a printout of the online request form, signed by an authorised staff member!
"Scan on demand" digitisation service
Using the "Scan on demand" form, you can request a full text of our printed materials. On receiving your request, the Inter-Library Loans and Document Delivery team will make a scan of the printed volume, provided this is allowed by copyright and the condition of the item is good enough to allow scanning without damage. Our team will inform you if a scan cannot be made.
A charge will be levied for delivery of the full text as stated in the Library's Scale of Fees document.
Using this service, only complete volumes can be requested. For individual chapters or articles, please use Document Delivery service!
Staff of TU Wien institutes will need a confirmation that the institute will take over the costs, signed by one of the institute's authorised signatories for ILL and document delivery requests.
